Elda achieved milestones that have marked the growth of this industry on a national level, such as the organisation of the first International Footwear Fair in Spain, FICIA; or the creation of INESCOP, the footwear innovation and technology centre, with its headquarters in the city. 

When wandering around the streets of Elda you will find a wide variety of shops with shoes to suit all tastes and, in particular, the famous Elda women’s shoe, an emblem of the city.
